Citizenship, Right and Values in Pakistan

The Pakistani nation is made up of a variety of peoples and races, who came into this part of
the subcontinent over many centuries. They speak different languages and have different cultures and customs. But they settled down in this region, so today we have a population that has many similarities and differences, too.

The majority of Pakistani people are Muslims: 96.5 per cent. The remaining 3.5 per cent includes
Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and Parsis.

Christians go to church for their prayers

Hindus worship in temples

Mosque -the place where Muslims say their prayers

Gurdwara-place of worship for Sikhs

Buddha, whose followers are known as Buddhists

There are differences in the social and economic status as well. Some people live and work
in large developed towns,
others live in small villages and settlements. Some people are fabulously rich and live in luxury,
while some are very poor, with no proper jobs and hardly any money, Some are very highly educated,
while a fairly large number is uneducated.

But all these people are the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. They are all
ruled by the same laws. They enjoy the same rights under the constitution and they
have the same responsibility towards the state,

We should all understand that by working honestly, working hard, obeying the laws of the
land and helping each other, we will make Pakistan a strong and prosperous country.

Every one young or old must try to be a good citizen. Here are some things you can do.
·         Obey the rules of school home and society
·         Help those people who need support
·         Keep your home, neighborhood and school clean
·         Value time: always be punctual
·         Study hard to help Pakistan when you grow up
·         Be proud to be a Pakistani! Love Pakistan work together to develop  Pakistan
Rights
The constitution of a country gives special rights to its citizens. Some of these are that all citizens are equal; all have the right to personal safety and security; all have the right to practice religion freely. Basic human rights are given to us by our religion as well
After the Second World War, the United Nation drew up a charter of Human Rights. All nations agreed to these rights. They are
1.       The right to think and speak as one likes
2.       The right to live as one likes, in ones home
3.       The right to life, liberty and personal security
4.       The freedom from unfair laws
5.       The right to a fair trial
6.       The right to be considered innocent until proven guilty
7.       The right to follow one`s religion
8.       The right to education
9.       The right to have a good job and a good life
10.   The right to travel and live, as one likes
11.   The right to own property

Values
Like rights, values are also important for all people. Values are the good beliefs and habits that we are taught by our religions (Islam) our elder and our society.
Good values are common to all religions and societies and following them makes life worthwhile and pleasant
