Lining leather tannage


Vegetable tanned leather is ideally suitable for lining as a material capable of both absorbing and desorbing moisture thus enhancing foot comfort. Lining leather for the high class shoe trade are frequently made from calf skin which may be unsuitable for various reasons for the production of full chrome upper or clothing leather the poorer quality and cheaper end of a parcel of calf are often used for manufacturer of linings E.I kips as well as bovine bellies split to the required substance and lining as usual split to 1.2 mm
Delime                100 % water
Drum                  1 % Ammonium Sulphate
           Run 30 minutes
Add                    0.5 % Oropon
          Run 1 hour
Drain & wash for 20 minutes
Pickle                   60 % water
                              6 % salt
                              0.6 % suphuric acid
Add                       1 % Chromsol B Powder  
                              26 % Cr 2O3 33 % basic
Run one hour and leave over night
Next morning well drain
Vegetable tan with 12 % Mimosa Powder
Pile for 24 hours, finish as desired
